JA Allen, a visual learning innovator holds a doctorate in education from Northern Illinois University and is also a respiratory therapist. Through years of research and real-world application, Dr. Allen has helped redefine how we teach and how learners of all ages can engage with information visually. Whether it's in classrooms, clinics, or cartoon panels, JA believes learning should never be boring.

Dr. Allen developed EZ-3 Learn, a cartoon-based learning model that blends humor, storytelling, and educational theory to boosts engagement, retention, and understanding. Through workshops he shares how EZ-3 Learn can turn complex ideas into simple, engaging visuals and increase learning engagement and understanding. EZ-3 Learn is the engine behind all of the systems developed including Decoding Asthma.

A cast of characters help tell the stories in the educational applications. The origin of the characters began 15 years ago in the The Beauforts comic strip and still runs today in a continuing narrative. EZ-3 Learn was a natural fit for the first application of the learning model in the first product - Decoding Asthma graphic novel.
